Dragonwell, also known as Longjing, is one of China's most cherished green teas. The flattened, spear-like leaves are pan-fired in a hot wok to create a toasty, smooth flavor, and buttery texture.
 
Dragonwell must be grown exclusively in Hangzhou in the Zhejiang province of China to be considered authentic. In Chinese tradition, this spring tea is picked in early April following the traditional Qingming festival.  Enjoy this fresh, delicate, and subtly nutty tea on its own. 
 
This tea has a very distinctive shape: smooth and perfectly flattened along the inside vein of the leaf, the result of highly skilled shaping in a hot wok. This process, known as pan-firing or pan-frying, was perfected in China by tea masters over the centuries and gives the tea an inviting, toasty aroma. Its sweet, rounded flavor with nuances of roasted chestnut makes this a truly satisfying cup of tea. It's especially refreshing when sipped throughout the day.
