KUO YUAN YE is a renowned Taiwanese bakery with a long history dating back to 1708, when ancestors of the Kuo family left Fujian, China to make a new home in what is now Taipei, Taiwan. In 1867, the first Kuo family bakery was built by Kuo Liang-chen, and he called it Kuo Yuan Ye. In the generations since it began, it has grown from a small mudbrick shop to a staple of Taiwanese culture, preserving traditional baking methods and innovating new techniques and flavors.

KUO YUAN YE's 100% Pure Pineapple Shortcake is made from a thin crust filled with strictly selected No. 17 golden diamond pineapples produced by farmers in Guanmiao, Tainan. Each pastry is baked using century-old techniques by an old master, combining golden meringue with a stodgy sweet and sour stuffing for a uniquely delicious flavor.
